A couple of years ago I decided to read all of the Harry Potter books. Not because they are great literary pieces, but because they were being talked about by everyone and I thought I needed to know what the fuss was all about! I enjoyed them, but I haven't watched all of the movies yet! And I don't think they are as good as something like the Narnia series. But that's irrelevant, because a generation of kids were reading these book and enjoying them.
In one of the movies, Albus Dumbledore says: "you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light".
Today I attended two grand finals (yes, that sort of day) and both of "my" teams had losses - and to the kids involved, it was shattering. I think they have to remember that it's dark today, but "turn the light on" and remember the good stuff!! It's hard to lose, but it isn't the end of the world, and it's a good thing to learn (doesn't even feel like that!). I'm sort of grateful for that lesson!
